Tapping into your unapologetic desires will help you in so many different areas of your life. It’s not an easy, nor a culturally condoned, practice, but is it ever freeing. Janette Dalgliesh, astrologist and life coach, joins me to talk about unapologetic desire and using astrology for our life’s purpose.

How to Figure Out Your Unapologetic Desires

  1. Buy a really nice notebook that makes you feel like writing

  2. Treat yourself to a beautiful pen that writes nicely

  3. Write down everything you want, no matter how big or small the desire is

About Janette Dalgliesh

Janette Dalgliesh helps people from all walks of life to figure out who they came here to be, what they came here to do, and how to live that life with joy instead of struggle. Based in south-east Australia, Janette uses her unique blend of astrology and life coaching to support her international clientele of poets, physicians, rebels, politicians, creatives, and entrepreneurs.

Applying Astrology to Your Life

Janette Dalgliesh brings her wealth of coaching and astrology experience to talk about how we can use astrology to help us uncover our purpose. Astrology is so much more than reading your horoscope in the weekly paper. It’s a map that tells us who we are and what we’re here on this planet to do.

Astrology can have a profound impact on your life if you decide to check your chart out. It can help you figure out your purpose in life. And it can help you decode aspects of your personality. I’ve found astrology hugely beneficial.

Through her work, Janette also discovered that so many people, especially women and other minority groups, have limited access to what they actually desire. Society has conditioned us to believe that it’s not okay to want what we want. But that’s simply not true.

How Does Unapologetic Desire Work?

Unapologetic desire is about figuring out what you want, no matter how small and trivial (like a cup of coffee from your favorite cafe), outlandish (like your own private plane), or impossible (like a hug from a deceased relative). If you truly desire it, Janette says to write it down.

The act of writing down your desires - really feeling into them - will help you connect with your Spirit of Desire. Janette shares what role the Spirit of Desire has in your life and how connecting with it will improve your quality of life.

We also talk about why tapping into your unapologetic desires is so important for us women physicians. It can definitely help us get ahead in life.

Quotes

“Your astrological chart is a map that tells you who you came here to be. Not what’s wrong with you or what the stars dictate. It’s who did you come here to be and what did you come here to do? Once we know that, we can get strategic about coaching.” [4:48]

“Aside from a very small, select handful of humans, most of us are given messages all through our lives that it’s not okay to want what we want. It’s particularly true for minority groups where the message is to not voice your actual, real desire.” [10:31]

“Take all the heat out of the conversation and be prepared to slow it all down. Have a completely different relationship with this ‘thing’ within you that knows how to want things.” [25:54]
